Veteran actress Loretta Devine and music superstar, Jill Scott will make guest appearances on the new season of BET’s breakout series, Being Mary Jane.
According to S&A, Devine will play the owner of the vehicle that Mary Jane crashes into at the end of the season two finale. Her character’s name is Cecilia and she is the owner of a bookstore. Scott is scheduled to play Jackie, the mother of Mary Jane’s unpredictable neice, Niecy.
Cast regulars Richard Roundtree, Margaret Avery, Lisa Vidal, Richard Brooks, Raven Goodwin, B.J. Britt, Aaron D. Spears, Latarsha Rose and Stephen Bishop are all scheduled to return.
Check out a sneak peek of the new season below. It’s a juicy scene between Lisa (Rose) and Mary Jane’s mother, Helen (Avery). Being Mary Jane returns to BET next month, October 20 at 9 p.m.
