Michael Sam made headlines earlier this year by becoming the first openly gay player in the NFL. Today Michael tells his story of coming out to the world, the challenges of being dropped by not one, but two NFL teams and how he is still remaining optimistic of playing football in his official #IamUnbroken video. The #IamUnbroken campaign, an NBC Universal-wide initiative that celebrates and inspires unbroken spirits from across the world and invites those from all walks of life to share their stories of triumph over adversity. The campaign leads up to the December 25, 2014, release of “Unbroken” the new epic drama from Academy Award® winner Angelina Jolie that follows the incredible life of Olympian and war hero Louis “Louie” Zamperini.
Michael Sam will also be featured on Oprah’s OWN this weekend in a 90-minute documentary that will air Dec. 27 at 9 p.m. ET. Check that out below:
