Tuesday night, ATL Live on the Park celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month with an incredible lineup of performances including Grammy Award winner Johnny Gill, R&B star L Young, VH-1 Soul’s October “You Oughta Know” artist Timothy Bloom and emerging R&B star Devon Stephon. Revolt TV’s Kenny Burns returned to host this month’s edition alongside special co-host national TV and radio personality Ebony Steele. DJ LV held down the 1s-and-2s along with house band, Quinn and Jukebox. The  event was sponsored by Gentleman Jack, Aaron’s, Majic 107.5, Cantu Beauty and W Atlanta Midtown.

The show kicked off with an outstanding performance by R&B artist L Young, who covered “Crazy” by Gnarles Barkley and then performed his own hit record “Love is a Verb.”

Up and coming R&B artist Devon Stephon took the stage next and entranced the audience with his impressive vocals and undeniable charm, covering D’Angelo’s hit classic “How Does It Feel” and Justin Timberlake’s “Pusher Love.” Stephon brought R&B artist, and past ATL Live performer, Mylah to the stage to perform Musiq Soulchild’s classic “So Beautiful.”

Timothy Bloom won the crowd performing his brand new single “My Diamond” followed by his hit “Stand in my Way.” Playing both guitar and keyboard, Timothy Bloom displayed his versatile musical talents.

In a brief music intermission and in light of Breast Cancer awareness month, Shanti Das and co-host Ebony Steele presented a very special award to a well-deserving recipient. As a seven (7) year Breast Cancer survivor, Ebony Steele developed the “Steele Standing” award to recognize women who have survived Breast Cancer and courageously share their story to uplift and raise awareness about the disease. Dee Dee Murray was presented the 2014 “Steele Standing” award and proudly shared her inspiring message with the crowd. Murray is a courageous Breast Cancer survivor and has recently devoted her life to the cause through her new philanthropic platform “The Cancer Queen Foundation.”

To conclude the evening headliner Johnny Gill, from the legendary R&B group New Edition, stole the show performing crowd favorites like “Your Body” and “My My My.” Gill livened up the party by jumping straight into the audience making moves on the crowd as he belted both classic and new hits like “Behind Closed Doors.” The legendary performer brought passion and strength to every note creating an unforgettable experience at ATL Live on the Park.

Before exiting the stage, ATL Live on the Park creators Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols brought one more surprise as they presented Gill with an official Proclamation from the City Council of Atlanta for his powerful contributions to city and the music industry.

Notables in attendance: Stevie J. and Joseline Hernandez of (Love & Hip Hop Atlanta), Carl Payne (Martin and The Cosby Show), Bryan-Michael Cox, Juan Farmer, Joyce Littel, Rick Ross of Capitol Records, Derek J (Bravo TV’s Fashion Queens), Celebrity Nail Technicians Sharlina and Sabrina Rowe, Gregory Smith of SESAC and singer, Algebra.
