RHOA star and Glee actress NeNe Leakes will make her Broadway debut this fall in the Tony Award-winning musical Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
According to BroadwayWorld.com, Leakes will play the wicked stepmother Madame opposite actress and talk show host, Keke Palmer, who stars as Cinderella. Leakes will take over the coveted role from former View host Sherri Shepherd, who will play Madame for a limited time, September 9-November 22. Leakes will pick up November 25 and star all the way through January 3, 2015, when the show closes its doors.
This is Leakes second major stage gig this year. Over the summer, she performed with the cast of Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity in Las Vegas. She made history in that role as the first celebrity cast member in the company’s thirty-year history.
Leakes is currently taping for the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and most recently launched her HSN Clothing line.
