ESSENCE Music Festival (EMF) headliner, Prince covers the June issue of the magazine and chats about everything from why he stop cursing in his music to why his current band keeps his music ‘spontaneous’ and in the moment.

“I’m not putting down The Revolution, even though people would love to see us together again. I owe a great debt to them. But I’m doing something else.”

In addition to helping EMF celebrate it’s 20th anniversary, The Purple One is commemorating the 30th anniversary of his classic album, Purple Rain.  He is also teaming up with Rebuild the Dream Innovation Fund, which encourages young people to harness the power of media and technology and channel their creativity into computer coding.  (#YesWeCode)
