Epic Records and Michael Jackson’s estate are planning to release a posthumous album by the late King of Pop on May 13.
According to THR, the eight –song collection titled, Xscape, was executive produced by L.A. Reid with lead production from Timbaland and additional contributing work from Jackson’s former collaborators Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome “Jroc” Harmon and John Mclain. Reportedly, each song was “contemporized” by Reid and will be available for pre-order beginning April 1 at iTunes.com/MichaelJackson.
“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with,” Reid said in a statement on Monday. “We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”
The one-named album will also be available in a deluxe edition, which will contain some of the recordings in their original form.
