Balmain has announced that AMA Icon Rihanna is their new brand ambassador for their 2014 Spring/Summer Campaign. Rihanna tweeted the information early this morning saying:
Guess who’s the new BALMAIN Woman???!!!!!!! #BALMAIN #MommaImadeIt #CaribbeanGalRunTing
According to her fan website, the Grammy-winning singing was described as an “icon” by the label’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing. “In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world,” Rousteing told WWD. “When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete.”
Reportedly, the promo shots were shot in New York by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with styling by Mel Ottenberg.
Rihanna continues to build her fashion and beauty empire. As previously reported, she has her own fashion line “RiverIsland Collection,” her Styled to Rock fashion-reality show airs on Bravo and her partnership with MAC continues to flourish with her Ri Ri Hearts MAC Collection. Last month, she was named as the new face of Viva Glam.
