Rihanna’s love affair with MAC will continue through 2014 as the cosmetic giant has named her its new spokesmodel for the Viva Glam line. ESSENCE is reporting that Rih Rih will be the face of the popular lipstick and lipgloss brand that has been raising money for people living with HIV/AIDS since 1994.
This new partnership comes on the heels of her hugely successful RiRi Hearts MAC Summer Collection and new holiday collection which is reportedly due out next month. Rihanna joins a long list of R&B/Hip-Hop stars that have represented the edgy and provocative brand including Lil Kim, Mary J.Blige, Missy Elliott, Eve, Nicki Minaj and the first spokesmodel, Rupaul.
According to an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Rihanna is excited about the new position and her continued partnership with MAC:
“When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind — for something legit — is MAC,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC.’ I’ve been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”
Look for Rihanna’s promotional push for Viva Glam to begin in January 2014.
