“Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” Mary J. Blige will be singing America’s praises Wednesday night. The nine-time Grammy winning performer has been tapped to sing the Star Spangled Banner during Game 1 of the World’s Series.
According to THP, Blige will sing before the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Blige is no stranger to singing the national anthem having performed the song during last year’s NHBA All-Star Game in Orlando and the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
The singer and budding actress is also gearing up for the release of her first ever Christmas album Mary Christmas, which debuts next month along with her new feature film, Black Nativity.
