Self-proclaim “King of the South,” T.I. is joining forces with United Talent Agency.
According to BET, the agency will overlook all areas of the rapper’s career, except music. He will continue to be managed by Category 5 entertainment’s Brian Sher, for film and television projects.
So far, T.I. has made a successful transition from hip-hop artist to television and film star with roles in such movies as ATL, American Gangster, Takers and most recently, Identity Theft. He has also starred in popular television programs such as Kelsey Grammar’s drama, Boss and in his own VH1 reality series, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, which is now in its third season.
T.I. is still promoting his current CD and is gearing up for the America’s Most Wanted summer tour with Lil Wayne and Future.
In other Hip-Hop news, reincarnated rapper Snoop Lion is teaming up with jazz legend Tony Bennett and his son Danny Bennett, for the “Voices Against Violence” anti-gun Campaign.
According to HipHopWired, this is latest move Snoop Lion has done to solidify his desire to be more than just a music artist. Last month, he released the single “No Guns Allowed” with Drake and his daughter, Cori B.
Snoop Lion appears to be very excited about the new partnership and tweeted out a video last week of him and Mr. Bennett talking about their musical journeys. Mr. Bennett recalled his pivotal role in 1960’s Selma March alongside Harry Belafonte while Snoop Lion looks to use this new platform as a way to address other social issues. Voices Against Violence is also a partner of the Brady Campaign for the Prevention of Gun Violence. Click here to learn more.
