Nene Leakes is laughing herself all the way to the bank! According to Radaronline.com, the outspoken RHOA star is now Bravo’s highest paid housewife, securing a $1 million contract plus bonuses for the next season.
“Nene is the one viewers watch. She knows that, Bravo knows that and that’s why they gave her a raise,” a source close to production revealed about her pay hike.
Nene and the other ladies signed their contracts for season six right before the season five reunion and reportedly not everyone is pleased. “Everyone gets it, Nene is the favorite, but they’re still jealous, of course. They wish they could earn what Nene makes because they don’t think she would be nearly as popular without fighting with them.”
Leakes, who can also be seen on NBC’s Glee and The New Normal, promised fans back in 2012 that she would remain on the show for as long as she could despite persisting rumors that she may be getting her own show. She is also the only original Atlanta housewife left from season one.
“She likes being on the show. Nene is really happy with the New Normal and Glee, where she can be a real actress, but she knows her bread and butter comes from Bravo and that’s why she’s coming back, ‘cause she can’t turn the money down!”
