Chicago rapper Common has added a verse to Jay-Z’s controversial new track, “Open Letter.” The unofficial remix, released on Monday, has Common discussing his own trip to the island to visit Assata Shakur.
“The same way they say she was a shooter, Assata Shakur, they tried to execute her. We should free her like we should Mumia,” the emcee raps.
