Award-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson is teaming up with the Sandy Hook Elementary School Chorus to sing “America the Beautiful” before Sunday’s big game.

The “Smash” star will perform with the chorus directly before Alicia Key’s sings the Star Spangled Banner. Sandy Hook is the site of the December 14 mass shooting in which 20 first graders and six adults were killed. Twenty-six students make up the chorus, in honor of the 26 people lost in the shooting.

Just last month, the Sandy Hook students performed a recorded version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with Singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson. The proceeds from that song’s sales will benefit the Newtown Youth Academy and the United Way of Western Connecticut.

Hudson’s Dreamgirls co-star Beyoncé will sing during the game’s halftime show.
