Award-winning singer-songwriter Ne-Yo let it slip Sunday night on the Grammy red carpet that he may be joining Simon Cowell’s X Factor  as a judge.

The “Let Me Love You” singer told Ryan Seacrest that he is in talks with the show but that nothing has been finalized.  “It’s a conversation. Nothing is set in stone right yet. It’s talks. There’s been a few lunches and dinners, but that’s all I can say right now.”

He also told Extra’s Mario Lopez during an interview that he would love the coveted position on the hugely popular reality music series.

“I think it would be a great, great thing, I don’t want to talk too much about it, because I don’t want to get in no trouble… conversations have been had, but that’s about it.” He told Extra, “If it happens, I’d be more than willing to do so. I feel like I’ve been around long enough to have some vital information for someone on the way up, definitely.”

If things work out as planned, Ne-Yo would take one of the seats held by former judges L.A. Reid or Britney Spears, who left the show after just one season. Judge Demi Lovato is reportedly in negotiations to come back for Season Three but that has not been finalized either.

Ne-Yo definitely has what it takes considering has penned hits for some of the biggest names in the industry such as Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson and more. He has also earned six Top 10 hits of his own and has won three Grammys for his musical works.

RC will keep you posted as this story develops.
