Who knew that “making it rain” in the strip club could get you arrested? Well, just ask Trey Songz!
The R&B singer and star of the upcoming thriller Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was recently arrested for assaulting a woman with money at his official CD release party for Chapter V. The soiree was held at Club Perfections in Queens, NYC back in August.
TMZ is reporting that around 4 am on August 22, Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, got into an altercation at the club but was not arrested that early morning.
“Tremaine Neverson, did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant’s left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye,” read the police report.
However, Songz was arrested for a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from the incident in September and went before the judge on November 1, where an order of protection was issued.
Songz is expected to return to court in February 2013.
