“There are two things you can never have too many of: Good Friends and Good Shoes”

RC was in the building this past Friday evening for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Toya Carter Wright’s and Danielle Cardiche-Johnson’s GARB Shoetique.

A number of ladies filled the trendy shop, gushing over the nicely displayed shoes, sneakers, boots and sparkling accessories. Guests enjoyed GARB cupcakes from CEO Custom Cakes & Novelties as well as drinks courtesy of Grand Touring Vodka.

Toya, who recently launched a  fashion line and partnership with Wal-Mart , says that she’s always had a passion for shoes. This store is a way for her to provide the everyday women with high-end merchandise at low costs.

“I love shoes and wanted to do something for the working woman or college student. Many girls try to get the shoes that we [celebrities] instagram or tweet about, you know the “shoegasm” shoes like the Christian Louboutins or YSL’s.  So I wanted to do something that was affordable and nice but still reasonably priced.”

GARB Shoetique is located in Smyrna, a thriving suburban area that Toya says she prefers over downtown Atlanta.

“I think Smyrna is the new hot spot around Atlanta. Before I had a store here, I would always come and get my nails done. It’s always busy on the weekdays and there are a variety of restaurants, salons, shops and places that draw in women. It’s a different location and a great demographic that I couldn’t pass up.”

Toya is also the buyer for the store and was very excited to announce the arrival of Jeffrey Campbell and Vince Camuto shoes next month.  When asked what her favorite shoe was in the store, she simply replied, “The one I’m wearing.”
