Congratulations to The Atlanta Falcons for defeating reigning NFL champs, The New York Giants. An RC Honorable Mention  goes to…

Scarlet Pressley-Brown, Deborah J. Richardson, Camille Russell Love and Pamela G. Alexander

City of Atlanta’s Office of Cultural Affairs director Camille Russell Love for being an award recipient at this year’s Ford Freedom Unsung Awards.  For years, Love has championed arts education for young people while instituting such activities as the ArtsCool Summer program and the city’s after school Culture Club program.

In addition to that, Love also produces the annual Atlanta Jazz Festival, which contributes a combined economic impact of over $30 million dollars to the city of Atlanta.

When asked, “Who her unsung heroine was?” she replied, “My mother.  Because my father was a politician, my mother was the one at home taking care of nine children.  She made sure we had our homework done and participated in cultural experiences. She also made sure we received a good education and taught us how to be kind, loving and compassionate.”  Kudos once again Camille for this much deserved award!
