Say it ain’t so!
BET is reporting that Jackson Five Founding Member Jermaine Jackson has filed a petition to change his famous last name of Jackson to Jacksun.
According to TMZ, Jermaine filed the petition for a change of name with the Los Angeles County Superior Court this past Election Day Tuesday.
In the court documents Jermaine says he’s making the change for “artistic reasons” but does not offer additional details beyond that explanation.
So far the name change request has not been approved by a judge but there has been a hearing scheduled on the matter.
If approved, Jermaine will have his name publicly announced over the next few months before it becomes official. The announcement can come by way of being printed in a local publication.
