“Big wheels keep on turning, Proud Mary keep on burning…”
These words are as famous today as they were back in 1971 when then Ike and Tina Turner re-recorded the Creedance Clearwater Revival song. Now, new school R&B/pop diva Jennifer Hudson is taking a stab at the classic song for a new collaborative album.
Singersroom.com is reporting that J-Hud was in the recording studio last week in New Orleans along with John Fogerty recording a special version of the song. This 2012 rendition features help from Rebirth Brass Band players Rockin Dopsie [washboard player] and Anthony “Dopsie” Rubin [accordion player].
This song will be featured on John Fogerty’s collaboration album, “Wrote a Song for Everyone” along with other selections from Kid Rock, Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. The album hits stores on October 9.
J-Hud is currently working on her third studio album. Check out one of Tina Turner’s classic performance of the song…
