The legendary ‘Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin is scheduled to take her place in the GMA Gospel Hall of Fame.  She is one of six inductees to receive this honor on August 14th in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Her love for singing began as a child.  Aretha grew up in a religious home being the daughter of a well-known Baptist Minister [The Reverend C.L. Franklin].

In 1972 the Queen’s album “Amazing Grace” sold over 2 million copies and is considered to be one of the best-selling Gospel albums of all time.

The GMA was established in 1971 and has over 150 inductees.  A few notables are Dr. Bobby Jones, the Winans, Richard Smallwood, Walter Hawkins and Reverend Al Green.

Congratulations Queen!
