CNN medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s novel, Monday Mornings had not hit shelves and TNT ordered a pilot last fall!  The book exposes dirty secrets about surgeons “as they push the limits of their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings.”  Dr. Gupta has been making his rounds promoting his novel that was released this month.

According to Deadline, Ving Rhames recently signed on to star in the new drama titled, Chelsea General.  Rhames, who was pursued for multiple pilots this season, will play a physically imposing former professional football player who now, is the most celebrated trauma chief in the country.

Television writer and producer, David E. Kelly who is known for creating Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, The PracticeAlly McBeal, Boston Public, Boston Legal, Harry’s Law and more will co-executive produce the medical drama series along with Dr. Gupta.
