MSN.com is reporting today that Fox’s productions plans for a “Waiting to Exhale” sequel are still moving forward despite Whitney Houston’s death.
Elizabeth Gabler, president of Fox 2000 Pictures, said she didn’t think Whitney would have wanted them to stop.
I’m sure this is bittersweet news for fans of the 1995 film. Many have been waiting patiently, 17 years exact, for Houston and the rest of her cast members [Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Lela Richon] to reprise their roles.
While no one has discussed who will replace Houston in the film, Gabler has indicated that Oprah Winfrey might be interested.
I will keep you posted on this one as it develops…
