Gabrielle Union recently completed the Susan G. Komen race for the cure in Washington, DC. Union’s participation in the race was personal as she loss a friend to breast cancer. The morning of the race she tweeted, “Beautiful morning in DC! So proud 2 be a part of the #GlobalRace & an Ambassador for @KomenfortheCure. I’m here in memory of my friend Kristen Martinez :)” .
She completed the 3.1 mile race in just over 40 minutes. The Susan G. Komen for the cure is an organization that raises money for education and research. The organization has been in existence since 1982.
