Bad Trip also stars Eric André and Michaela Conlin. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and produced by André, Jeff Tremaine, David Bernad, and Ruben Fleischer.

First Look Images from ‘Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker’ [PHOTOS]

Netflix has released some new “first look” images and an official premiere date for the upcoming biopic about black hair icon and mogul—Madam C.J. Walker.

Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker debuts on March 20, and features Academy Award® winner Octavia Spencer stars as the trailblazing African American haircare entrepreneur who was America’s first female self-made millionaire.

The project is inspired by the book, On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker, which was written by Walker’s great-great-granddaughter A’Lelia Bundles. The Netflix original series is the first time Walker’s story has been showcased on the big screen.

Against all odds, Walker overcame post-slavery racial and gender biases, personal betrayals, and business rivalries to build a ground-breaking brand that revolutionized black haircare, as she simultaneously fought for social change.

The four-part limited series also stars Blair Underwood as her husband C.J. Walker, Tiffany Haddish as her daughter Lelia, Carmen Ejogo as Walker’s business rival Addie Munroe, Garrett Morris as Walker’s father-in-law, Kevin Carroll as her longtime lawyer Freeman Ransom and Bill Bellamy as Ransom’s cousin Sweetness.

Produced by SpringHill Entertainment and Wonder Street in association with Warner Bros. Television is helmed by co-showrunners Elle Johnson & Janine Sherman Barrois, along with writer and co-executive producer Nicole Jefferson Asher, directed by Kasi Lemmons and DeMane Davis, and executive produced by Janine Sherman Barrois, Elle Johnson, Maverick Carter, LeBron James, Octavia Spencer, Mark Holder, Christine Holder, Kasi Lemmons, and Jamal Henderson.

Watch the New Trailer for ‘Like a Boss’ starring Tiffany Haddish (VIDEO)

Tiffany Haddish is teaming up with Selma Hayek and Rose Byrne for the new comedy Like a Boss. It opens in theaters on January 10.

Best friends Mia and Mel (Haddish and Byrne) are living their best lives running their own cosmetics company they’ve built from the ground up. Unfortunately, they’re in over their heads financially, and the prospect of a big buyout offer from a notorious titan of the cosmetics industry Claire Luna (Hayek) proves too tempting to pass up, putting Mel and Mia’s lifelong friendship in jeopardy. The beauty business is about to get ugly.

Like a Boss also stars Billy Porter, Jennifer Coolidge, Ari Graynor, Natasha Rothwell, Jessica St. Clair and Karan Soni.

UPDATE: Tiffany Haddish, Blair Underwood and more added to ‘Madam C.J. Walker’ Netflix Series

Octavia Spencer has added more star power to her upcoming Netflix series based on the life of Black millionaires Sarah Breedlove better known as Madam C.J. Walker. The project will now feature Tiffany Haddish, Blair Underwood, Carmen Ejogo, Garrett Morris and Kevin Carroll.

The four-part limited series is being described as “the untold, culturally important, and highly relevant story of black hair care pioneer and mogul Madam CJ Walker and how she overcame hostile turn-of-the-century America, epic rivalries, tumultuous marriages and family challenges to become America’s first black, self-made female millionaire.” It is inspired by the book, On Her Own Ground by A’Lelia Bundles, Walker’s great-great-granddaughter.

According to S&A, Haddish will star as “Lelia,” who is based on Walker’s daughter A’Lelia Walker. Underwood will star as “Charles James Walker,” who is based on Madam C.J.’s third husband Charles Joseph Walker. Morris will star as “Cleophus,” who is based on Walker’s father Owen Breedlove and Carroll will play “Ransom,” a pullman porter whose degrees in law and patents from Columbia University serves him well as a legal advisor to Walker. Ejogo will star as “Addie” and is based on Walker’s real life rival Annie Malone, who accused Walker of stealing her original formula for hair straightening and strengthening.

Janine Sherman Barrois and Elle Johnson are the showrunners, writers and executive producers for the series. Kasi Lemmons will direct and executive produce the pilot. The project is also being produced through LeBron James‘ Springhill Entertainment and ZeroGravity in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Watch Trailer for ‘The Kitchen’ starring Tiffany Haddish + Common (VIDEO)

Check out the brand new trailer for The Kitchen starring Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Moss. It opens in theaters on August 9.

The Kitchen stars the ladies as three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI. Left with little but a sharp ax to grind, the ladies take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands—proving unexpectedly adept at everything from running the rackets to taking out the competition…literally.

The film also stars Domhnall Gleeson, James Badge Dale, Brian d’Arcy James, Margo Martindale, Common and Bill Camp. It was written and directed by Andrea Berloff.

‘Nobody’s Fool’ Cast attends NYC Premiere [PHOTOS]

The stars aligned this past weekend at the AMC Lincoln Square for the New York City premiere of Tyler Perry‘s newest comedy Nobody’s Fool. All of the film’s actors joined Mr. Perry for a star-studded red carpet screening.

Trying to get back on her feet, wild child Tanya (Tiffany Haddish) looks to her buttoned-up, by the book sister Danica (Tika Sumpter) to help her get back on track. As these polar opposites collide — with hilarious and sometimes disastrous results — Tanya discovers that Danica’s picture-perfect life — including her mysterious boyfriend — may not be what it seems.

Nobody’s Fool also stars iconic EGOT performer Whoopi Goldberg, Power actor Omari Hardwick, stage and music diva Amber Riley and film heart-throb Mecad Brooks.

Other celebrities in attendance included media mavens Gayle King and Bevy Smith, versatile actors Micheal K. Williams, Malik Yoba and Leon, hip hop icon Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, OITNB actress Danielle Brooks, fashion icon June Ambrose, film legend Cicely Tyson and the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Tracy Morgan, Cedric The Entertainer & more attend NYC Premiere of ‘The Last O.G.’

The stars from TBS’ The Last O.G. were in the Big Apple Thursday evening for a special advanced screening of their new comedy series. Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer and Allen Maldonado were all smiles at the red carpet event that took place at The William Vale.

The Last O.G. centers on Tray (Morgan), an ex-con shocked to see just how much the world has changed when he is released from prison for on good behavior after a 15-year stint. Returning to his newly gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood, he discovers that his former girlfriend, Shay (Tiffany Haddish), has married an affable, successful white man (Ryan Gaul) who is helping raise the twins (Taylor Mosby & Dante Hoagland) Tray never knew existed. Wanting nothing more than to connect with his kids, but having neither the money to support them nor himself, Tray falls back on the skills he learned in prison to make ends meet while treading on unfamiliar territory.

Following the screening was an after party which featured a special performance from iconic rapper Busta Rhymes.  The Last O.G. debuts on TBS April 3 at 10:30 p.m. EST.

UPDATE: Whoopi Goldberg added to Tyler Perry’s ‘The List’

Tyler Perry is adding more star power to his upcoming film The List.

According to THR, Oscar winning actress and co-host of The View, Whoopi Goldberg will be joining previously announced stars—Omari Hardwick, Tika Sumpter and Tiffany Haddish.

The List follows Danica (Sumpter), who is forced to accept that she may be getting “catfished” by an online boyfriend whom she has never met in person, when her wild sister (Haddish) gets released from prison and re-enters her life.  This is Perry’s first project through Paramount Players and is set to be released on November 2, 2018.

Look for Goldberg to also star alongside Tessa Thompson in Furlough. Haddish is gearing up for the premiere of her new TBS series The Last OG with Tracy Morgan. Hardwick currently stars on the hugely popular STARZ series Power and Sumpter currently stars in Perry’s hit drama The Haves and the Have Nots.
