TV One’s original auto-biographical series UNCENSORED is back for a second season with some really exciting new profiles on Tyra Banks, Niecy Nash, Tisha Campbell, Lamar Odom and LisaRaye McCoy.
It premieres on Sunday, October 6 at 9 p.m. EST.

Netflix has released the sexy new trailer for Season 2 of it’s popular dramatic series, She’s Gotta Have It and baaabbbbyyy it-is-hot!
This new season offers a timely and topical portrait of rising talents, with free-spirited artist Nola Darling (DeWanda Wise) at the center. Struggling with newfound success this season, against a backdrop of black art and culture, Nola must decide if she will remain true to her creative ideals or give in to the corporate world. TV One’s award-winning docu-series UNSUNG returns for another season beginning TONIGHT at 9 p.m. with ATL heartthrob LLOYD.
Introduced to the world through a boy band at the tender age of 10, he would go on to join one of the most notorious record labels of the millennium, Murder Inc. Under the guidance of label co-founder Irv Gotti, Lloyd hit the ground running with hits like “Southside,” “Get It Shawty” and “You.” When the feds came calling to investigate Murder Inc., however, both the label and Lloyd’s career were put on hold. Although Lloyd was able to reclaim his position on the music charts for a brief time, he eventually retreated from the spotlight for several years. Now with a new label and outlook on life, Lloyd is back and ready to tell his story to UNSUNG.

As previous reported, music icon Ms. Patti LaBelle will have a recurring role as Maxine Patterson, a famous Christian motivational speaker and the CEO of a global Christian self-help empire and an old college friend of Lady Mae’s (Lynn Whitfield). Patterson will also serve as her sounding board and greatest ally as Lady Mae attempts to consolidate her power at Calvary.
Other guest stars include Dr. Iyanla Vanzant of OWN’s popular “Iyanla: Fix My Life.” She’ll be portraying herself and helping Charity (Deborah Joy Winans) finally find her place in the Greenleaf family.
TV and film icon Beau Bridges will play Bob Whitmore, the folksy and charming founder of Harmony of Hope Ministries, a massive denomination with churches all over the world who will use any unsavory tool at his disposal to win.
A brand new season of TV One’s UNSUNG begins this Sunday, May 20 at 9 p.m. with a profile on 80s R&B music group Mtume. Best known for their massive hit “Juicy,” the group would go on to release other classics such as “You, He and Me” and “Breathless.” Hip-hop icon Notorious B.I.G. would later sample “Juicy” in his hit single of the same name and introduce them to a new generation of fans.
Other artists profiled this season include R&B divas – Regina Belle, Michel’le, Cheryl Pepsi Riley and girl group 702. Hip-hop stars Special Ed and Digable Planets will also be featured along with blues icon B.B. King and smooth R&B crooner Will Downing.
UNSUNG celebrates the lives and careers of artists or groups who have overcome great odds in their journey to stardom, yet their stories have yet to be fully explored. Through first-hand accounts, interviews with family and friends, and archival footage, each episode weaves a tale of the highs and lows of a life in the limelight. The showis narrated by actor Gary Anthony Williams and is executive produced by Arthur Smith and Frank Sinton of A. Smith & Co. Productions.
OWN has dropped the official trailer for TV’s biggest phenomenon, QUEEN SUGAR, and I am so ready for it. The one-hour dramatic series returns for a two night premiere – May 29 & 30 at 10 p.m. EST.
From the look of the video, Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) is finally getting the test results of his paternity test and will find out if Blue (Ethan Hutchinson) is really his son. Nova (Rutina Wesley) may be leaving the newspaper for a new book deal. She will also get reacquainted with an old friend that may challenge her notion of relationships. Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) is sealing the deal with the shiesty Landry family that could ultimately determine the fate of her family’s land. While everyone seems to be against her unorthodox business practices, I believe this will be the season where we find out why the series is titled Queen Sugar.

According to S&A, Snowfall will continue its riveting story about the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. Season two follows the ensemble of characters as they intersect and overlap within the mosaic of Los Angeles as we enter 1984, all of them working toward their ultimate goals of money, power and influence. The players here are: Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), young street entrepreneur beginning to experience the perils of success; Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), a CIA operative who finds that his off-book drug-funded operation may be vulnerable from unexpected sources, both personal and professional; and Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta) and Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios), the drug running couple who discover the potency of crack and try to exploit it despite the new dangers involved.
Snowfall was created by award-winning filmmaker John Singleton.
The cast of OWN’s hit dramatic series Queen Sugar got together recently for a photo shoot to promote the new season and RC has the behind-the-scenes video of all the fun.
Queen Sugar is set to return for a two-night premiere beginning Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday, May 30 at 10 p.m. each night. The series will air regularly on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m.
In season three, the Bordelons find themselves continuing their fight to save their family farm and father’s legacy as they navigate their own personal journeys. They soon find that their fight extends beyond their close-knit family, but also to the community.
TNT has released a new trailer for its popular series CLAWS starring Niecy Nash. It returns to Sunday nights on June 10 at 9 p.m. EST.
CLAWS is a midnight-dark, wickedly funny meditation on female badness set in a South Florida nail salon. It follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous manicurists working at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon, where there is a lot more going on than silk wraps and pedicures. CLAWS is about good women caught in bad places with worse men. It’s the story of hardworking women trying to get by in this economy, set against the surreal, bright, gritty landscape of Florida and the luscious, absurd, extreme excesses of the crime world.
Rounding out the cast is Carrie Preston, Harold Perrineau, Jenn Lyon, Judy Reyes, Karrueche Tran, Jason Antoon, Kevin Rankin, Jack Kesy and Dean Norris. Also joining the cast for this new season is my buddy veteran stage, screen and TV actress Sheryl Lee Ralph.
