André Leon Talley signs late-night talk show deal?

Posted by | Cyrena Rose

LATE NIGHTS WITH ANDRE?

Former American editor-at-large for Vogue magazine, André Leon Talley (now listed as Contributing Editor in the April 2010 masthead) has inked a late-night talk show deal with production company Electus, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

Talley will serve as executive producer of the potential chat-fest, along with Electus. He said his goal is to create “a show that blends Dick Cavett’s approach to eloquence and sophistication with unparalleled access into my international fashion lifestyle. A forum where unique stories will be told and inspirations shared.”

Marc Beckman of DMA United brokered the deal between Talley and Electus. Beckman said the show was still in the early stages of development but would likely be geared towards a cable network. “We think a television platform is an ideal showcase for André’s personality to shine and bring together his amazing network of personal contacts, ranging from designers to musicians to politicians,” he noted.

Talley is no stranger to TV, he served as a judge for four cycles (from 2009 to 2011) of Tyra Banks’ reality competition America’s Next Top Model.

Talley also films shorts for a web series on Vogue.com called “Mondays With André,” is a fashion correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and recently joined Numéro Russia, the soon-to-be-launched Russian outpost of international fashion magazine Numéro, as editor-at-large.

BET’s TJ Holmes to debut new late night talk show ‘Don’t Sleep’

Posted by | Ray Cornelius

Former CNN anchor and correspondent TJ Holmes is eager to get started with his new gig on BET.  Holmes will host a new late night show called Don’t Sleep.  This show is part of a multi-platform talent deal he signed with the network back in 2011.

According to Ebony, the 35 year-old from Arkansas recently spoke at a TCA press tour about the show and says that the biggest adjustment with the new job is the new time.

‘We are going to be airing every night at 11 p.m. It’s kind of odd. I go from doing early mornings to late nights,” said Holmes. “That’s going to be a bit of an adjustment, but it’s going to be a variety of folks. We have a list we’re kind of working for that first week, and we’ll be talking more about that as we get closer.”

Holmes will be competing for viewers come this fall along with former late night talk show king Arsenio Hall and reality show starlet Tiny, who is hosting her very own late night program, Tiny Tonight on VH1.

Which show are you going to watch? Let us know.

Arsenio Hall returns to Late Night TV…

Posted by | Ray Cornelius

It’s no surprise that Arsenio Hall is returning to late night television next year. It was just a matter of time before the recent “Celebrity Apprentice” winner would eventually return to his rightful place of prominence on the television circuit. If you want to learn a little bit more about Arsenio Hall, then you can check out this here (talking with arsenio hall 2018). You might learn something about him that you never knew before.

According to BET.com, Hall is partnering with syndicator CBS Television Distribution and Tribune Co., for an 11pm program. The new show will be seen in over 17 markets including Chicago and Los Angeles.

Hall’s first show aired in 1989 on the Fox Network. The Arsenio Hall Show featured a variety of guests including many of today’s established celebrities, entertainers and actors as well as provided a platform for hip hop artists to perform their music. His audience, known as the Dog Pound, greeted him each night by barking and pumping their fist. This became a cultural phenomenon and was associated with the Aresnio Hall brand.

Although it’s been more than 20 years since we’ve seen Hall in this late night TV format, I’m confident that this show will be just as popular and part of everyone’s “must watch” weekly line-up of television programming.

Congratulations to Arsenio! Let’s take a walk down memory lane and look at some of Arsenio’s most talked about moments…
