In what will probably be her most watched Next Chapter episode this year, Oprah Winfrey sits down and talks candidly to four groundbreaking African-American actresses on Sunday, June 23 at 9 p.m. EST.
Phylicia Rashad (who is celebrating a birthday this week), Viola Davis, Alfre Woodard and Gabrielle Union open up about the challenges, criticism and competition they face as African-American women in the entertainment industry.
The one-hour special will be followed by the world television premiere of the documentary, Dark Girls at 10 p.m. EST. The 2012 indie film produced by Bill Duke and D. Channsin Berry, explores the many struggles, including self-esteem issues, which women of dark skin face. The film includes numerous interviews including one with Viola Davis.
