I knew it would be only a matter of time before a petition would be drawn against the upcoming Oxygen reality show, All My Babies Mama’s.
The series, which is scheduled to air this spring, follows Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo and his alleged “10 baby mamas” and “11 children.” He is also reportedly dating a young lady on the show that is the same age as his oldest children.
Sabrina Lamb was outraged at the network and is calling for a cancellation of the show. Lamb has already set up a petition on change.org and has received over 6,139 signatures. Apparently, she is only 1,361 signatures shy from reaching her goal.
“By pushing these degrading images, your company seeks to profit from the humiliation of girls and women and the blatant stereotyping of African-Americans,” writes Lamb in the petition.
“We think Oxygen and the show’s creators and producers have gone too far and if this show is aired, we will, without hesitation, boycott any and all companies that advertise during this minstrel show.”
