Actor Bradley Cooper has been offered the male lead opposite Beyoncé in Clint Eastwood’s remake of A Star is Born.

Indiewire.com is reporting that although Bradley has been offered the role he has not formally accepted it. Sources close to the actor are saying that “there is no deal in place and Cooper has a very busy schedule.”

The role was previously offered to Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Tom Cruise.

A Star is Born is tells the story of a young woman who enters show business and falls in love with an established male star, only to find her career rising as his goes into a decline.

This is the third time the movie has been remade. The first film was done in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor. Then a second version in 1954 starring The Wizard of Oz’s Judy Garland and then in 1976 featuring singer/actress Barbra Streisand.
