As if DWTS was not enough, The ‘Empress of Soul’ Miss Gladys Knight is also working on another television show.
According to TMZ, the ‘Love Overboard‘ star has been cast for a new show about a fictional President of the United States entitled, “First Family.” Knight, who will play the mother of the President, is said to be working really hard between this gig and her rigorous rehearsal schedule for Dancing with the Stars.
Byron Allen will serve as the executive producer of “First Family” and had this to say about the Motown legend, “Gladys is truly an American treasure and were excited to work with her.”
Knight pulled out all the stops on the season opener of DWTS; earning 23 points out of 30 and lots of praise from the judges. Check out her smooth moves with partner Tristan MacManus:
