Rockmond Dunbar is back with a brand new drama titled, The Way. The hunky actor will star as an FBI detective alongside Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan, who play a couple at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage, and power. Veteran actor Laurence Fishburne has signed on to play Alex Haley in a remake of his ground breaking television series, ROOTS. The project is being produced by Will “Power” Packer and original ROOTS star, LeVar Burton. The series will simulcast on History, A&E, and Lifetime. ROOTS is based on Haley’s iconic book about his American family origin story based around the life of Kunta Kinte. James Earl Jones originally played Haley in the 1977 version. Anthony Mackie will step into the shoes of Civil Rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King for an HBO remake of the Broadway play, All the Way. The story focuses on President Lyndon B. Johnson’s efforts to get the controversial yet historic Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed in Congress. All the Way is being executive produced by Steven Spielberg and is based on LBJ’s 1964 campaign slogan, “All the Way with LBJ.” [SHADOW&ACT]
