The ‘Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin has added Broadway and Tony-winning actress Audra McDonald to the growing list of actresses to play her in an up-incoming biopic.
According to the Huffingtonpost.com Franklin recently saw Audra’s stellar performance in the Broadway revival of “Porgy and Bess” and she immediately added McDonald to the list of hopefuls who could act out her life on the big screen. This star-studded list already includes Oscar winners Halle Berry and Jennifer Hudson. Although nothing has been confirmed, Franklin is said to be closed to finalizing the project.
