What do you get when you merge the talents of a rising child star with a hip-hop mogul and one of the most powerful actors in Hollywood?
You get Willow Smith in a new Hip Hop version of the musical Annie.
Sony pictures will remake the 1977 Broadway musical and now Jay-Z has joined the team to construct the entire musical score. The on screen adaptation is being produced by Will Smith with the story line set in present day New York City.
Jay-Z is quite familiar with the classic musical. In 1998, he sampled one of its songs “Hard Knock Life” and used it in his Vol. 2 album of the same name.
