Don’t forget to set your DVR for the “ABFF Honors: A Celebration of Hollywood.” The two-hour program airs for the first time on BET and is part of the network’s month long celebration of Black History.

ABFF Honors is an annual gala saluting excellence in motion pictures and television. Its mission is to celebrate Black culture by recognizing individuals, movies and television shows that have had a significant impact on American entertainment, as well as those who are proponents of championing diversity and inclusion in Hollywood.

This year’s show, which was held on Sunday evening at L.A.’s Beverly Hilton, honored Diahann Carroll with this year’s Hollywood Legacy Award and tv/film maverick Will Packer with the Distinguished ABFF Alumni Award. There will also be appearances by Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Octavia Spencer, Loretta Devine, KeKe Palmer, Anthony Anderson and more.

Following the telecast is the cable premiere of the Oscar winning-film “12 Years a Slave.”

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is an annual event dedicated to bringing awareness of quality entertainment content made by and about people of African descent to a worldwide audience.  This year the ABFF will celebrate its 20th anniversary June 15-19 in Miami Beach, Florida.
