Congratulations to TV, film and stage actress Crystal Fox. She is one of the three honorees at this year’s Women’s SuperStars Luncheon during the 2017 BronzeLens Film Festival. The event will take place on August 25, 2017 at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta.
Other honorees include award winning director, writer and producer Neema Barnette, whose fabulous work can be seen in OWN’s popular series “Queen Sugar” as well as VH1’s “The Breaks” and BET’s “Being Mary Jane.”
Emerging filmmaker Nefertite Nguvu (pictured on the left with Ray Cornelius) will also pick up an award for her work on the indie-projects, “In the Morning,” “U.N.I.T.Y Re-ignighted” and Common‘s album—Black America Again.
The Women SuperStars Luncheon is one of the most significant events in the southeast to celebrate and honor the achievements of women of color. It has become a must-attend signature event for film production insiders, corporations and the local community.
“The BronzeLens Women SuperStars Luncheon serves as an industry platform for interactive networking, social and professional engagement that inspires and informs women from all walks of life,” said Kathleen Bertrand, BronzeLens Film Festival Executive Producer.
Past recipients have included Margaret Avery, Terri J. Vaughn, Suzanne dePasse, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Lynn Whitfield, Julie Dash, Cheryl Boone Issacs and Ava DuVernay.
