Is legendary R&B songstress Anita Baker bringing her “farewell tour” to the ATL? According to a recent tweet, she is. The “Sweet Love” singer posted that she will be in Atlanta for Mother’s Day weekend:

“OK… i DO know that it looks like Atlanta, for Mother’s Day weekend…tickets are not even on sale yet. Website, will go up shortly, with all Info. We are just Overhelmed by this Avalanche of Love…We weren’t Readyyyyy…’ abxo”

The Grammy winning singer-songwriter and music icon announced earlier this week that she will embark on a series of  “Farewell Concerts” beginning as early as March. The 59-year-old singer, who’s turning the BIG 6-0 on January 26, retired from the music industry last year.

While I wasn’t able to find out any concrete information for the Atlanta show, there are a few dates that have been posted to the web including stops at the Moran Theater in Jacksonville, Florida on March 14, Bobb Carr Theater in Orlando, FL on March 16 and Hard Rock Stadium for Miami’s “Jazz in the Gardens” on March 18.

2018 is a very special year for Baker as it marks the 30th anniversary of her Three-time Grammy winning third album, Giving You the Best That I Got. It was her first and only #1 Pop album and her second #1 R&B album. It also went 3x platinum and features such classic hits as “Giving You the Best that I Got,” “Good Enough,” “Just Because,” and my personal favorite, “Good Love. ” Check out the audio video below:
