The groundbreaking work of legendary Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall is coming to life in the upcoming film, “MARSHALL.” It features “Black Panther” actor Chadwick Boseman as the iconic civil rights attorney and was directed by Reginald Hudlin.

As previously reported, “MARSHALL” focuses on a case that helped to define Thurgood’s career long before he sat on the United States Supreme Court or claimed victory in Brown v. Board of Education. The story follows his courageous fight alongside attorney Sam Friedman (Josh Gad) in the case of a black chauffeur Joseph Spell (Sterling K. Brown), who is being accused by his white employer, Eleanor Strubing (Kate Hudson), of sexual assault and attempted murder.

The film also stars former “Girlfriend’s” actress Keesha Sharp as Marshall’s wife, Vivien “Buster” Burey as well as “Empire” star Jussie Smollett as writer and poet Langston Hughes and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas as Harlem Renaissance writer Zora Neale Hurston. It also features appearances by singer Andra Day and famed civil rights attorney and host of TV One’s “Evidence of Innocence” Benjamin Crump.

“MARSHALL” was shot on location in Buffalo, NY and will be released in theaters on October 13.
