Congrats to fashion maven Edward Enninful. He has been appointed the new editor-in-chief for British VOGUE. The announcement was made on Monday with Enninful stepping into the position beginning on August 1.
“I grew up reading British Vogue – I am so honoured and humbled to be taking up the mantle of editor,” said Enninful in a statement. “I realise I am stepping into the shoes of a hugely respected editor in the shape of Alexandra Shulman, someone who has chosen to leave at the top of their game with a legacy of 25 years of success.”
Enninful began his career as a model and later became the fashion director for i-D Magazine at the tender age of 18. Over the years, he has contributed to American VOGUE and Italian VOGUE, where he served as the brains behind their internationally known “Black Issue” featuring runway divas—Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn and Alek Wek. He is currently the fashion and style director of W Magazine.
“British Vogue is a great magazine with a legacy of creativity and innovation,” said Enningful. “I look forward to continuing to produce an exciting beautiful magazine for its readers.”
