RHOA star Kandi Burruss took time away from her busy schedule to host a “Back to School Bash” at Atlanta’s Macy’s at Lenox Square Mall over the weekend. The event featured a 90’s inspired fashion show of boys and girls apparel plus live performances from her new music groups—LOUD and Glamour.
Burruss talked briefly to the AJC’s Rodney Ho before the show about this new season of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and said that it was going to be full of surprises. Burruss told the Ho that viewers will also see aspects of her life that she’s never shared before and that she is now the oldest member of the cast since NeNe Leakes will not be returning. While she didn’t talk much about her new restaurant, I’m sure we’ll see it played out over the season. Burruss was accompanied by her husband and TV producer Todd Tucker, her daughter Riley and her baby boy Ace.
The fashion show was hosted by triple threat performer Jasmine Robinson better known as QT Jazz and featured an array of hip styles for the summer and fall. The show also included a dance contest for the kids (and a few adults) and lots of Macy’s giveaways.
The event was presented in collaboration with Burruss’ Kandi Cares Foundation, which is dedicated to educating, empowering and enriching the lives of single parent mothers and their families. The event was able to assist over 100 families with clothing and school supplies.
