I had the distinct pleasure of traveling from Atlanta, GA to Birmingham, Alabama on this past Saturday with WCLK 91.9 to attend the Steel City Jazz Festival. The three-day event is one of the southeastern’s most sought after music destinations and takes place every Black Music Month at the city’s historic Linn Park.

This year’s lineup featured a bevy of smooth R&B and jazz artists including Marcus Anderson, Boney James, Althea Rene, David Sanborn, Maysa, Morris Day and Time, Ben Tankard, Ken Ford, BWB with Norman Brown, Kirk Whalum, Rick Braun, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and many more. I also got a chance to explore the city and took in some beautiful sights at the RailRoad Park and ate some amazing BBQ at the historic Dreamland BBQ Restaurant.
