The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has released dates and cities for its upcoming North American Tour beginning February 2016. The 20-city tour opens on February 2 in our nation’s capitol, Washington D.C., with stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Boston and Houston. It closes the weekend of May 6-8 in Newark, NJ.
In other related Ailey news, the renowned dance company will be “going to the movies” next Thursday, October 22 as part of the Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance.
As previously reported, the one-night-only screening features performances from Ailey’s recent Lincoln Center season including excerpts from Wayne McGregor’s “Chroma,” “Grace” by Ronald K. Brown “Takademe” by Ailey’s artist director, Robert Battle and Ailey’s signature classic, “Revelations.”
