History makers—Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Misty Copeland—grace the covers of magazines for the month of September. The ladies look absolutely amazing in their photos and are definitely at the top of their game.
First up is American Ballet Theater (ABT) superstar Misty “On Pointe” Copeland for ESSENCE. The Kansas native made us all proud in June when it was announced that she was promoted to the role of principal dancer for the prestigious institution. It was the first in the company’s 75 year history and no one was more deserving of that honor than Copeland. She will also make her Broadway debut this week in the smash hit musical, “On the Town,” where she will play the role of ‘Ivy.’
Next up is Grammy winning singer-songwriter, actress, and philanthropist, Beyoncé for VOGUE. The multi-talented performer slays on the coveted issue and is the first African-American female music artist to do so. Inside, Bey is applauded by fashion icons Richard Tisci, Marc Jacob and Stella McCarthy, and dishes about the art of global domination.
Check out their stunning photos below + a behind-the-scenes video of Bey in action:
