To celebrate the upcoming release of the drama SOUTHPAW, VIBE brought the film’s stars, Jake Gyllenhaal and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson for a knockout cover! Gyllenhaal plays Billy “The Great” Hope a reigning light heavyweight champ who is managed by 50’s character. The two discuss The Sweet Science of Life and talk the A-List cast in SOUTHPAW. “I was training at Church Street gym downtown and Antoine [Fuqua] had 50 come and just talk. We met up and the second we met, I literally got out of the ring. I was done with training, we met in the back room and he just started talking to me like he was my manager. From that moment, I was like, ‘He’s amazing.’ – Gllyenhaal about his co-star 50 Cent.
