Warner Bros. has released the first trailer to the sequel of The Amazing Spider-Man. The film stars Andrew Garfield as webbed super-hero along with Jamie Foxx as Spidey’s newest arched nemesis, Electro. Foxx talked about his role last year with Entertainment Tonight and how excited he was to play a Marvel Comics villain.
“Electro is a great character,” said Foxx. “He’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.” Electro has the ability to store, project and manipulate electricity with his body.
The new film also stars Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Emma Stone as Gwen, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn and veteran actress Sally Field as Aunt May. The film was also shot on location in Manhattan last spring.
Here is the official synopsis:
It’s great to be Spider-Man. For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen. But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro, Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
