Badgalriri has sparked some controversy within the Muslim community by wearing her own version of their religious garb!
The pop superstar was asked to leave the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi after being accused of posing for “indecent pictures”.
Rihanna had a recent performance in Abu Dhab for her Diamonds World Tour. The singer attempted to show respect to the culture by covering up and wearing an all black jumpsuit, but she caused a stir after she actually had a photo shoot outside the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
The staff at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque released a statement confirming that they did not give Rihanna permission to take the photos and they also confirmed that the superstar was asked to leave:
The singer entered the mosque in a personal capacity and without prior co-ordination. She was requested to leave after making indecent pictures which did not match the sacred status of the mosque.
The singer did not present herself to the people in charge and entered through a gate not designated for visitors. She left before entering the mosque itself after she was requested to leave.
That wasn’t the only backlash Rihanna received over the photos. Turns out when she posted a few of them to her Instagram account, she was slammed by some Muslims for penning a caption they deemed disrespectful. She posted the following photo and writes in the caption:
“B*tch stole my look”
