The L.A. Times is reporting that super music producer Timbaland has signed a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The company, which announced the big news on its website on Wednesday, will now manage the career of the multi-platinum hitmaker.
“We would like to welcome Timbaland to the Roc Nation family!,” reads the caption under a photo of the innovative producer-rapper in the studio with Jay-Z.
Jay-Z also posted the photo on his Life + Times blog and quoted one of their many collaborations, “Hola Hovito.” “And I won’t surrender It With Beats,” the title of the post reads.
Timbaland, who’s famous for his groundbreaking work with Missy Elliott and the late Aaliyah, will join an eclectic mix of superstars on the company roster including Rihanna, M.I.A, Santigold, Melanie Fiona, Wale, Mark Ronson and Shakira. Roc Nation also manages songwriters, producers, DJs, engineers and mixers.
Timbaland has also worked with an elite list of singers including Janet Jackson, Usher, Brandy, Chris Brown, Ludacris, and Jennifer Lopez. He most recently partnered with Justin Timberlake on his hot new single featuring Jay-Z called “Suit & Tie.”
Timbaland is currently in the studio working on the third installment of his ‘Shock Value” series.
