I attended the Season Two preview of HBO’s breakout series, GIRLS on Friday night at The King Plow Art Center. The evening was attended by a number of Atlanta socialites including Imara Canady (Area Director for UNCF), Kathleen Bertrand (Executive Producer of the Bronze Lens Film Festival) and Tami Reed of Talking with Tami. DJ OMG provided throwback 80’s sounds while guests mixed and mingled.

GIRLS, was previewed in 11 different cities across the country including Portland, Washington D.C. Chicago, and Miami.

It also previewed in New York last week and was attended by singer and fashion muse Solange Knowles, whose hit single “Losing You” is featured in the show this season.

According to the official website, Girls was created by and starring Lena Dunham (“Tiny Furniture”), the show is a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s. Dunham wrote and directed the pilot of the series, which she executive produces along with Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner.  The cast also includes Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver and Alex Karpovsky. .
