The AJC is reporting that fashion designer Zac Posen is replacing Michael Kors as a judge on the popular reality-series, Project Runway.
“This was an amazing opportunity,” Posen said. “I hope I’m here to give a new perspective to the designers.”
Kors, who has served as a judge on the show since its inception in 2004, was unable to coordinate his schedule with the new season. So Posen has agreed to step in and fill those shoes. Don’t worry, Kors is not totally out and will appear as a guest judge on the season finale.
Posen is no stranger to Runway, having been a guest judge himself. He says he will bring his “sharp eye” for craft and construction to the panel and will leave everything else up to the show’s host and executive producer Heidi Klum and Marie Claire fashion director Nina Garcia.
Posen is an accomplished designer whose cutting edge fashions are always the talk of NYC Fashion Week. He is a favorite among such fashion forward stars as Naomi Campbell, Beyonce, Tyra Banks and Rihanna.
The new season of Project Runway airs January 24.
What are your thoughts about Posen replacing Kors?
