Olympic superstar Gabby Douglas has not let fame go to her head. Instead she seems to be taking it all in stride. The 16-year old, who appears to still be in “awe” about her new found celebrity, talks about that and more in next month’s issue of ESSENCE.
“In my dreams I didn’t think about how many shows I would be on and how many people would tweet me…it’s so cool!”
The “Flying Squirrel” graces the cover of not one but two issues of the popular magazine. The first one shows Gabby in a classic little black dress along with her Olympic gold medal. The second cover shows her without her medal along with fellow Olympians Allyson Felix, Carmelita Jeter and Sanya Richards-Ross.
Look for ESSENCE ‘Women of the Year’ issues to hit newsstands next week November 9.
