By The Way, Meet Vera Stark is on its way to L.A…..
The show initially opened in May 2011 in New York’s Second Stage Theatre, off-Broadway, NYC and ran through mid-June. S&A reports, the show will make its West Coast premiere at Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, with Sanaa Lathan reprising her role in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Lynn Nottage’s acclaimed satiric play.
Lathan stars as a black maid in Hollywood pursuing her dream of making it in the movies, while also grappling with racial stereotypes, through several decades of the 20th century.
Opening night at Geffen Playhouse is September 26.
Sanaa Lathan can be seen in the TV series Boss, when season 2 premieres on August 17 at 9PM.
